In France, graphic novels are a really big deal, and the most important festival for graphic novels occurs in Angoulême., a small city in southwestern France. The Angoulême International Comics festival is in its 51st year. The winner of this year’s “Grand Prix” is a British author, Posy Simmonds, 78. She is only the fourth woman to win the award.
